If you have been following me for any amount of time you know that I am a huge fan of generating my own leads. This is absolutely the best way you can get your own exclusive MLM leads, period. The problem with paid leads is always the decrease in overall quality. Leads you buy are usually ‘opportunity leads.’ This means that the people who opted in to become leads were simply interested in a home business or work from home jobs. Many of these leads are recycled and are the last people you want to bring into your MLM company. Don’t believe me? Go buy some leads and let me know how your calls went.
The way that you grow a successful MLM business, no matter what company, is by generating your own leads. These are by far the most exclusive leads you will ever have because you are the only person who has access to them. Additionally, these leads will be more responsive compared to most paid leads. I would like to discuss some ways you can generate your own exclusive MLM leads, using some very simple approaches I have used in the past and some I still currently use. Results will only occur with action. So by the end of this article be sure to start thinking about how you will be implementing these in the near future.
1. Focus On Targeted Professionals – There are many professions outside of MLM that are perfect for MLM. These include sales, real estate, insurance, private practice and many others. The common denominator amongst the people in these professions is marketing. Each of these people know how to market themselves, one trait that is required to excel in MLM. For example, focusing on real estate professionals would be wise because they already have the skills that would be required for MLM. Skills such as lead generation, phone skills, communication skills and selling.
Chiropractors, doctors and lawyers also fall into this category. Make a list of any of these professions in your area and start contacting people. Smart Tip – If you see a real estate advertisement get the name and number and call that person. Say the following: “Hi ______, I saw your ad in the _______ and just wanted to tell you that you are great at what you do. I would like to show you something you may be very interested in. Do you keep your options open for generating additional streams of income?” It’s as simple as that. You can, of course, customize your message as you see fit.
2. Contact Only The Quality Section Of Your Warm Market – I do not usually advocate promoting your primary program to your friends, family and the rest of your warm market, but there is an exception. The exception is to find people who you already know who would be qualified to work with you. Think of anyone you know personally who would have the skills to be an asset to your team. Regarding the rest of your direct circle of influence I would just forget about them.
3. Referrals – Referrals are one of the best ways to generate high quality leads for your business. Whenever you speak to a lead or new prospect be sure to ask them for any referrals. If you have ever heard of the ’6 degrees of separation,’ then you know that we are all connected by somebody knowing somebody. You never know who you might be referred to.
4. Use The Internet – The amazing technology and leverage of the internet can be a great addition to your business because you can advertise to only targeted and highly qualified MLM leads. This is my number 1 choice for lead generation. I never cold call leads and I always talk to people who are interested in what I have to offer. This can eliminate most if not all of the rejection you may have faced and makes building your business so much more fun and easy.
Remember, if you want to experience success in MLM, the first thing you must have is leads. As you begin to get momentum in your team and develop some leaders you will need less leads. Until that point, it is vital that you start generating your own leads. I can teach you.
