There are a number of energy business opportunities available right now. You may have heard of a few. What you may not have heard of though, is actual success stories of people who turned a profit in one of these energy businesses. Over the next few minutes I’m going to share with you my personal story of how I accidentally stumbled across a home based energy business and was able to build a profitable organization in a matter of just a few months.
Back in June, 2010, my girlfriend (a wellness center coordinator) said she had a client, named Bob, who was looking for someone to help him market on the internet. Since I had experience promoting on the web she gave him my contact information and a few days later we had a long conversation. Bob, til this point, had built his own publishing company which has been very successful to date, but he had just started a new venture with one of his partners. He was ranting and raving about energy deregulation. He told me that our utility company, PECO, (around the Philadelphia region) was officially deregulating at the start of 2011 and there was a huge opportunity to capitalize on what was about to happen.
Til this point, I honestly had NO CLUE about energy deregulation or how a average guy like myself could profit from it. But Bob was so enthusiastic and excited about it that I couldn’t possibly dismiss what he was telling me. So let’s just say I became VERY interested! I was then invited to take a closer look at the company Bob had partnered with by attending a live presentation in Allentown, PA. The people in attendance were very nice and professional and it seemed as if everyone just knew this would be big. It was a good feeling! At the conclusion of the presentation I decided I was all in. There wasn’t a doubt in my mind that I HAVE TO DO THIS! I later told Bob, “listen, if I am going to help you promote this, then I want a piece of the action.” I then secured a position immediately in his team.
Fast forward to September, 2010. At this point I began to take this business very seriously and started to devote a few hours each day to it. There were weekly meetings in King of Prussia and Philadelphia, PA that were very helpful in exposing the business to people. Each day I would contact a few people I knew including friends, family members and other contacts and inform them that as of January 1, 2011 their electricity rates would increase and the company I represented could offer them a lower rate. In a matter of 3 weeks I signed up over 20 customers and between October and December, 2011 I was able to have 308 customers in my organization! I couldn’t believe what happened in such a short period of time.
Currently, my customer based has grown to over 1300 customers and I consistently receive a monthly residual income check that continues to grow and grow. I’ve been able to win multiple contests, earn just over $10,000 in bonuses this year and best of all, people in my team are doing well also.
Now, the interesting thing about this story is that I had NO prior experience in the energy industry, never worked as a broker and really didn’t know anything about electricity, other than what a kilowatt hour was! 
And here’s the real truth – you don’t need experience in energy to succeed in a home based energy business. All you simply must do is follow a system, be consistent and follow someone who already has the results you want. You also want to join the best energy business opportunity available because not every business is created equal.
My recommendation to you is perform your research, ask questions and become informed. Find a company and team that can help you get results and you will undoubtedly put some extra cash in your pockets from deregulation.
