When I first got started in MLM I had NO CLUE what I was doing. Like most people I just followed the basic, and very ineffective suggestions of my upline. Then one day, after studying many top producers in the MLM industry, it hit me. I had to become someone that I wasn’t already. I had to develop specific traits and characteristics about myself if I was ever going to succeed in MLM. This is where leadership came in. Below I will list the exact steps I took in order to become a leader and explain the profound effect it had on my business.
1. Leave My Comfort Zone – If I was ever going to become a leader and someone who was highly sought after in this profession I had to step out of my comfort zone. This meant I had to do all of things I was previously hesitant to do. Some of the activities included talking to more prospects on the phone, learning new skills such as learning how to generate MLM leads online and being featured on jam-packed conference calls. Being a leader means you have to do the things that most people are not willing to do.
2. Helping Others – Becoming a leader I had to do what was necessary for other people in my team, as well as new prospects I would interact with. This included creating training, researching the right resources and tools for the Joey Fratantoni MLM team and doing whatever it took to make sure my team could produce. One of the most appealing qualities of a leader is that they help other people when others are reluctant to.
3. Personal Development – Becoming a leader I had to constantly development and grow myself. This meant reading the right books, submerging myself in positive and empowering information and doing everything that most people simply don’t do. By doing this I increased my overall value as a person and it transcended to my team and everyone else I came in contact with. This edified me as a leader in the eyes of others.
4. Facing Adversity – On the road to becoming a leader I faced much adversity. The difference between leaders and followers is that the leaders will face the adversity head on, while the followers will submit to it and go straight back to their comfort zone. Some of this adversity for me was rejection from leads, long hours each night for months, piled up debt and a number of stressful conditions that was always testing me as a future leader. Simply put, leaders handle adversity and find a solution no matter what.
5. Keeping My Integrity – As a leader you have to keep your integrity above everything else. That underlying reason and core value that you live by everyday can never be broken. As many external factors that test you again and again it is crucial that as a leader you stay committed to your personal mission. This is noticed by others and makes you extremely attractive.
The Importance Of Leadership In MLM
The reason there are 6 and 7 figure earners in the MLM profession is because these people became leaders. They have increased their value to the world and made themselves super attractive to other people. The prospects who joined these people didn’t do so because of the MLM company or the compensation plan, but rather because of the value this leader presented and offered the prospects. It’s as simple as this. If you want to succeed in the MLM profession you absolutely must become a leader and follow the same steps I took a few years ago.
What Leadership Did For My Business
After I took it upon myself to become a leader I saw a complete turnaround in my business. Sponsoring became easier. Talking to leads became effortless. Because I had increased my value and offered more than most people, my prospects picked this up and wanted to join ME immediately. It will take some time, but if you do this, you will have no problem experiencing success in MLM. The only thing that separates you from top producers is time. So get out there and start leading!
