Welcome my friends! In this post we are going to talk about generating targeted MLM leads. So why would I even waste my time writing about this anyway? Good question. The answer is simple. In order to have successful in MLM you need to have targeted leads for your business. By targeted I mean leads that want what you are offering. Leads that want to start a home based business. And leads that are serious about joining a team like yours. Sure you can buy leads, but you are sacrificing quality. Most leads you pay for are ‘opportunity leads,’ meaning that they probably filled out some survey stating that they might be interested in working from home or something else very vague all together. These are leads you want to stay away from. Heck, you might be better off picking up your telephone book and cold calling people. Even if you did manage to get these dead beat leads to sign up with you, they would probably not be the best producers in your team.
As you know, I like to focus on using powerful online strategies to grow my business. We are going to talk about some ways you can find targeted MLM leads for your business using the internet. We will be covering forums, pay-per-click and videos. There are many more we could discuss, but I find these to be the most effective and have worked well for me in the past. I also wanted to list these three because some are free and some are paid and I’m not sure what everyone’s budget situation looks like.
1. Forums
Forums are websites that host discussions and allow their members to participate and interact with the rest of the community. Forums are an excellent source to generate targeted MLM leads because there are many niche based forums. For example there are forums dedicated solely to network marketing. There are some forums that are dedicated solely to internet marketing. Any topic you can think of there is probably a forum out there. Here are a few forums you want to sign up with:
When you sign up for these forums you will want to set up your profile and complete the signature/ resource box. This box allows you to list more about what you offer and you can includes links back to your landing page or whatever website you like. In order to use the forum strategy effectively you must participate in these forums on a regular basis. Look for discussions that would deal with targeted MLM leads or discussions that you think your leads would be interested in. Participate in these discussions and provide value. You can even create your own discussion about something you think your leads would be interested in. For example you could start a discussion about ‘The Top 10 Things Every Home Business Owner Should Know.’ Your leads would read this and if they found it helpful or valuable would want to learn more about you. They can then click on your link in your signature box and go to your website. It’s as simple as that. You just have to provide a lot of content that you think people can use. Make sure you do not spam and participate consistently. This is the only way this strategy will work. When I first got started this would pull about 5 targeted leads a day for me. 2. Pay-Per-Click (PPC)
PPC is the advertising solution offered by search engines such as Google, Yahoo, MSN and a few others. PPC works like this: advertisers bid on specific keywords and keyword phrases. Whenever a searcher types in these words or phrases the advertisers ad will pop up on the search engine results. If the searcher likes their ad and clicks it, the advertiser will be charged a specific amount per click, which is calculated through a series of different variables. PPC is an excellent advertising strategy and if used correctly can yield you some very impressive results and tons of targeted MLM leads. The strategy here is simple. You do thorough research and see exactly what your ideal leads are searching for. Then you select your keywords and keyword phrases ( you can find which keywords are being searched for with free tools) and create your ads. An important thing to remember here is to make sure everything is congruent from your keywords, to your ads, to your website. Many advertisers that use PPC make this mistake and it causes a negative impact on their conversions. The greatest thing about PPC is that you can target exactly who you want and you will be guaranteed clicks to your website. Be warned though, PPC does cost money and you should only use this if you have an advertising budget and are also willing to learn PPC thoroughly.

3. Video
The last thing we will talk about, because I don’t want to give away too much information to make your head explode, is going to be your video marketing strategy. Video has become increasingly popular over the last 5 years on the internet and is extremely powerful, even though it’s free. You see with video, you are able to make an instant connection with your potential lead. Videos are also very versatile. You can pretty much make a video about anything you want. Plus there are hundreds of video sharing sites and they are continuing to grow everyday. Video is one of the key components of social media, you have probably been hearing this term all over the place.
In order to make a video you first will need a video camera, web-cam or even a software that allows you to record videos without you being in the video. Next, make sure that you have adequate lighting and an organized background. Whatever message you are trying to deliver say it by being genuine and authentic, just be yourself. You want to talk about something in your video that would make one of your potential leads want to take action. For example you could produce a video talking about how to recruit on the phone. Next you will want to produce your video using a video editing software. If you don’t have one, don’t worry, more than likely your computer comes with one standard. For Macs it is iMovie. For Windows it is Movie Maker. The next thing you want to do once your video is produced is to upload it to some video sharing sites such YouTube or MetaCafe. Then you will edit the video and create a title, list some tags and fill out a description. (There is more on this, but we’ll save it for another post)

These three, among many other online techniques, have allowed me to generate over 50+ laser targeted leads for my business everyday.
