There’s something that has been troubling me over the last few months. This has become a major problem, especially for new people who enter the network marketing industry, including new distributors I bring into my personal team. The problem is small, but can be very destructive. People who join a new business opportunity are always told what to do, but never told how to think. If you have ever heard of Pareto’s Principle, aka the 80/20 rule, it states that 80% of your results will come from 20% of your actions. This can be applied to many scenarios and is a very accurate principle. When it comes success in network marketing, or any other industry, your success will come from 80% of how you think and 20% of what you actually DO.
What bothers me most is that the majority of people who look for financial and time freedom in this industry are usually self-sabotaging themselves simply because they occupy their minds with the wrong kind of thoughts. If you dissect the thoughts of anyone who was ever been successful you will come to realize one common factor. Whatever this person really wanted, that is what they continually thought about. Every limiting belief was removed and their mind was filled with reassuring and optimistic thoughts. This is what you have to know my friend. The very second you start to place limitations in your mind and start creating excuses is the exact same moment when you FAIL.
Now I am unaware what your religious, spiritual or philosophical beliefs may be, and I don’t care. None of that matters. What matters is that if you want anything worthwhile in this life all you have to do is fill your mind with the right kind of thoughts. Plant a new seed in your mind and water it with faith and passion and you can literally have anything you want. Now I know what you’re thinking, “geez Joey, this sounds sorta like that Law of Attraction, I don’t believe in that!” And you don’t have to. But what you must realize is that the difference between someone who lives a life of abundance and someone who lives a life of poverty are only separated by their thoughts. As quoted by the great Earl Nightingale, this is truly the strangest secret know to mankind and if you ‘get it’ you can achieve anything and everything you set your mind on.
How To Apply This Secret
For practical purposes, no matter what network marketing company you are working with or any other industry, I would like to share how you can implement this secret into your daily routine. Now, you have to understand that past conditioning and how you were raised may actually be detrimental to your success. Meaning that what your parents taught you or what you may have learned in school or the environment you grew up in may very well have sculpted the current thoughts in your mind. You will have to gradually change your way of thinking so that more beneficial thoughts can occupy your mind.
The best way to do this is start submerging your mind with empowering material such as recorded audio cd’s, videos, literature and hanging around people that are already successful. DO THIS EVERY DAY! For a network marketing company you will want to set a specific goal for yourself (i.e. sponsor x number of distributors, earn a certain amount each month, generate so many leads, etc.) and create a very strong vision in your mind and think about this vision ALL THE TIME. When you do this you will attract the people and circumstances into your life that will get you closer to your vision. You will move with purpose. Anyone who has never got what they really wanted just never had a vision mixed with faith and passion.
Always Be Aware
When changing your thoughts you will begin to notice subtle changes in your circumstances. What you have to be aware of are the limiting beliefs that will always try to creep up and sabotage you. Keep them at bay and OUT OF YOUR MIND. These types of limiting thoughts can include:
“I can’t do that”
“I don’t have the skills”
“I am inadequate”
“I can never be like that”
“What will my parents think”
I’m sure you can think of some others as well. The important thing to remember here is through repetition and habit you will be able to clear your mind and keep the mental soil fertile enough so this new seed can grow.
So to recap my friend all you have to do is change your thoughts and your life will automatically begin to change. It’s a simple as that. Nothing more, nothing less. The key to success awaits you right now.
